What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is when you stop and take time to notice your thoughts, how your body is feeling, and what’s going on around you right now.

This means paying more attention to all the things around you. Look at the sights that you see as you walk. Listen to the sounds around you. Take a deep breath and notice all the smells in the air. Stop and think about the taste of what you are eating.

The Benefits of Mindfulness

By using mindfulness, you’ll start to enjoy the world around you more, and to understand yourself a little better too. You’ll see the value of some of the things that you took for granted. And it will help you cope with things like stress and anxiety much better.

Sometimes it helps to be more mindful at the same time, so that you get used to doing it. Trying new things can make you more mindful too.
