Every night I would eat my dinner in the living room, watching Netflix.

This meant that I would never talk to my family at dinner so often would not find out about their day or how they were.

This increased tensions in my house and meant that we argued more at home; I drifted apart from my sister. It also meant that I was so pre–occupied watching Netflix that I didn’t even enjoy or taste the food that I was eating.

One day a friend told me they had seen my sister crying and when I got home I asked her if she was ok and she said she was being bullied.

I was shocked and she said she had tried to tell me but I was always distracted and on Netflix.

From then on I realised I had to eat with my family and my sister and I are closer now and tell each other everything.
